Local Manufacturing company is looking to add to their team an experienced CMM Operator. This position is responsible for Interpreting and understanding complex technical documentation such as blueprints and specifications. Perform and certify inspections & tests in accordance with technical documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
*Utilize Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and inspection equipment to measure/layout complex components to engineering requirements.
*Use manually driven CMM to measure complex components to verify conformance to engineering specifications and standards.

Job Duties:
*Maintain inspection documentation (written, electronic and photographic).
*Strong level of interpersonal/communication skills to work effectively with management, engineering, suppliers and customers.
*High level of problem solving skills to identify/perform root cause analysis on machining issues and offer recommendations for resolution.
*Successfully complete measurements and tasks on time to aggressive schedules.
*Manually lift and manipulate heavy objects.
*Comply with all AAM safety policies and procedures.
*Work independently while exhibiting team work skills with co-workers and others.
*Maintain excellent housekeeping and safety practices.
*Proficient computer skills, especially in MS Office applications.
*Demonstrate flexibility on job assignments.
*Work concurrently with Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Manager, to identify and resolve machining issues.
*Perform and maintain gage calibration system; including scheduling of calibration services, sending instruments to vendors for calibration, and replacement of instruments and/or purchasing new instruments.
*Perform first piece approval and maintain first piece/last piece storage.
*Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:
*CMM programming with Zeiss Calypso software and inspection layout.
*Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
*Minimum 3 years experience in automotive manufacturing operations
*Experience with aluminum

Work & Education Requirements:
*2 year Associate Technical degree or equivalent experience

Physical Demands
This position requires manual dexterity to properly and safely manipulate tools and controls. This position requires frequent walking and standing; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Hours: 6a-2p Monday-Friday (OT as needed)
Pay: DOE
