2nd Shift CNC MachinistLocation: Benton Harbor, MISchedule: Monday to Thursday, 3:00 pm - 1:30 am with overtime as neededHourly Rate: $22.00+ per hour, depending on experience Summary:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual as a 1st Shift CNC Machinist. The CNC Machinist programs and operates Okuma CNC lathes to create parts to specific dimensions.  As the CNC Machinist you will program, set up, load, and cycle the machine.  You will be responsible for inspecting parts using calipers, micrometers, and gages, to verify program, as well as detect malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.  You will run production lots, communicate with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintain a safe, organized, clean work environment.    Job Functions:
  • Follow work orders, blueprints, process sheets, drill charts, job specifications and other instructions to ensure that parts are produced to engineering specifications. Follow oral and written instructions in manufacturing metal parts, fixtures, tooling, and repairing parts as specified
  • Accurately records information such as cycle time, parts count, scrap, etc. according to company procedures
  • Maintain continuity among operators by communicating and documenting actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations
  • Taking measurements to part specifications
  • Update manufacturing documentation as needed
  • First piece inspection and assurance of product quality
  • Adjust, sharpen, replace worn tools
 Qualifications:
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Graduation from a CNC/machinist certification program or 1-2 years programming experience
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and operation.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and move moderate weights and perform physical tasks as required.
