Design Engineer. This position is responsible for developing and revising complex designs for new and existing products using 3D CAD. Engineering responsibilities will include conceptualizing designs to meet functional specifications, analyzing data, technical communication, and leading OEM development projects under the guidance of the Owner and Quality/Special Projects Manager. Will work 8am-5pm with a little flexibility if needed. Primary duties will include product design and development, defining project scope, starting with basic idea and carrying through to the completion of plans and prototype, defining resources, fixtures and time lines needed to complete projects, generating product improvements and/or cost reductions, assisting sales and/or quality with design issues, preparing bill of material (BOM) and/or routings, preparing and processing engineering change requests (ECR s), preparing and/or modifying engineering models/drawings, reviewing product design for compliance with customer contract requirements and specifications, and coordinating activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design problems. Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field, and at least five or more years design and project management experience (trailer assembly and/or heavy equipment manufacturing experience is preferred), ability to read and interpret product, tool, customer, and machine prints, be proficient with Solidworks, ProE (Windchill a plus), have Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing experience and advanced knowledge of raw materials. This is a salaried position starting out at $50K - $65K depending on experience.
