Local production facility is looking for a 1st. Shift Quality Manager:

Summary:
Develop, implement and manage quality systems designed to ensure continuous production of Aluminum and Zinc die castings (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
*Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
*Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to ensure quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.

Job Duties:
*Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
*Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
*Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
*Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other departments to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
*Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
*Interpret quality control philosophy to personnel within Company.
*Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
*Apply total quality management tools and approaches.
*Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts.
*Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams.
*Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.
*Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:
*Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

*Problem analysis and problem resolution skills.

Work & Education Requirements:
*B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering desired.
*Minimum 7 years related experience required in an ISO 9000 environment (minimum, TS16949 preferred).
*Supervisory/management experience.
*Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
*Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
*Use of Quality Engineering methods, CQE preferred.
*Familiar with Aluminum & Zinc high pressure die casting, machining, assembly and leak test.
*Computer proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment.

Physical Demands:
This position requires manual dexterity to properly and safely manipulate tools and controls. This position requires frequent walking and standing; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Hours: 6a-2: 30p- OT as needed
Pay:$18
